Xtract Doubles Strike Length at Zambia’s Silverking Project with Promising High-Grade Results

Xtract Resources, an Aim-listed company, has announced that recent assay results from its ongoing drilling campaign at the Silverking copper project in Zambia have doubled the strike length of high-grade mineralisation to over 160 metres.

The company, which is working to earn up to a 70% stake in the project from Oval Mining, released results from a second batch of diamond drill holes.

These results confirmed consistent high-grade copper and silver mineralisation across significant widths.

In addition, Xtract noted that its metallurgical testwork now includes efforts to upgrade and pre-concentrate lower-grade mineralisation in the footwall and hanging wall zones.

Using gravity-based processes such as spirals and jigs, the company aims to produce a pre-concentrate suitable for processing at a centralised facility.

The company highlighted that, if successful, this approach could significantly increase production volumes and copper output by making lower-grade zones economically viable.

“We will continue step-out drilling until we define the boundaries of mineralisation. At the same time, we’re testing the depth of the deposit with select drill holes targeting depths of around 400 vertical metres,” said Xtract Resources chairperson Colin Bird.

He added that metallurgical testwork had been expanded and that early-stage results from gravity processing of lower-grade mineralisation were “very exciting,” indicating strong potential for generating additional copper production from typically lower-yield areas surrounding the high-grade core.

“This could be significant, as it may allow us to recover copper from a broader mineralised envelope around the high-grade zone.

We’ll continue to keep shareholders informed as more assay results become available,” Bird concluded.
